1. Event date WBSC Baseball5 World Cup 2026
Date: 9 - 13 December 2026
Travel: The team will depart on 7 December 2026 and arrive in Hong Kong on 16 December 2026. 
Location: San Juan, Puerto Rico
 
2. Coaching Staff The coaching staff will be appointed by the Baseball Association of Hong Kong, China (BAHKC).
3. Selection & 
Training Requirements		 Application Period: 1-9 October 2026

Phase I Preparation:
  • Local Training: 1-31 October 2026
  • Overseas Training: 23-26 October 2026, Guangxi, China (for the 16 selected athletes). This training will determine the 12-athlete Preliminary Team Roster. Athletes named to the Preliminary Team Roster will receive a supporting document for their US visa application and must apply by 30 October 2026. Only the eight athletes selected for the Final Team Roster will be eligible for reimbursement of the US visa application fee.
Phase II Preparation:
  • Local Training: 1-22 November 2026
  • Announcement of Final Team Roster: 23 November 2026
  • Overseas Training: 27-29 November 2026, Chinese Taipei (applicable to 8 selected athletes on the Final Team Roster)
Please refer to the Training Schedule (updated on 28 September 2026) for details. The schedule is subject to change due to the availability of the venue(s) or other situations.

4. Eligibility Criteria
  • Age: Athletes must be at least 15 years old in the event year (born in 2011 or earlier). Open to both male and female athletes.
  • Nationality: Applicants must hold a valid HKSAR passport
  • Membership: Applicants must be current members of BAHKC..
2026-27 BAHKC membership fee (valid until 31 March 2027)
  • Full-time student membership: HK$120 (a copy of the student ID must be submitted for verification)
  • Associate membership (age 18 or above): HK$360
  • Full membership (age 18 or above): HK$2,500 (lifetime membership, subject to approval by the BAHKC Board of Directors)
5. Application Procedure (a) All applications must be submitted through the BAHKC Online Registration System (ORS):
(b) Upload the following documents to the BAHKC ORS.
  • Copy of Hong Kong Identity Card (HKID)
  • Copy of HKSAR passport
  • Copy of Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents
(c) Upload the following documents via Google Drive: https://forms.gle/biPeRfBnBQxHN39w6
  • Headshot photo (light plain-colored background without wearing a cap) 
  • Copy of US visa(if applicable)
  • Copy of any other passport for travel (if applicable)
(d) No application fee is required for the tryout period.
 
6. Regular Training Fee Athletes who pass the tryout must register for the 2026–27 Baseball5 Regional Squad Elite Training Scheme.

Registration fee for the 2026–27 Baseball5 Regional Squad (valid until 31 March 2027): HK$600 per athlete

Remarks: No additional fee is required for local training.
 
7. Participation Fees Competition:
  • WBSC Baseball5 World Cup 2026: HK$3,500 per athlete (applicable to the selected athletes)
Overseas Training (The fee will be finalized based on the specific trip arrangements)
  • October 2026, Guangxi, China: HK$600 per thlete (applicable to the selected athletes)
  • November 2026, Chinese Taipei: HK$1,000 per athlete (applicable to the selected athletes)
8. Notes
  • All fees paid (membership, registration, participation) are non-refundable once the application is submitted.
  • Final interpretation of these terms is at the sole discretion of BAHKC
