Recruitment of Assistant Baseball5 Coach for the Hong Kong, China Baseball5 Team to the 3rd Baseball5 Asia Cup
English version only Posted on 25 October 2025 The Baseball Association of Hong Kong, China (BAHKC) is looking for a Assistant Baseball5 Coach to assist our appointed Cuban Head Coach to prepare for and participate in the 3rd Baseball5 Asia Cup, details are shown below:
Competition Date: Late March 2026
Competition Location: to be announced
Training Group Size: 20-30 athletes
Competition Delegation Size: Maximum of 10 including 4 male athletes, 4 female athletes and 2 delegate-officials (head coach and coach)
Duties and Responsibilities: - Assist the Head Coach in organizing local and overseas training sessions.
- Provide technical and tactical support to the Head Coach for team preparation, both on and off the field.
- Supervise the team to maintain optimal physical and psychological condition throughout the training and competition periods for the Asia Cup.
- Evaluate and select top-performing athletes for the team, refine the training programme, and formulate game strategies with the Head Coach.
- Coordinate with the Strength & Conditioning Coach and other relevant directors regarding their scope of work.
- Promote Baseball5 within the local community.
- If required, you must book LCSD venues via SmartPLAY using your personal account at least 7 days prior to the training session.
- Submit an evaluation report on player selection for the tryout, Preliminary Team Roster, and Final Team Roster, in collaboration with the Head Coach.
- Assist the Head Coach in preparing an overall report assessing training effectiveness and team performance and submit to the BAHKC within 14 days after the Asia Cup concludes.
Qualifications and Requirements: - Must be a certified Baseball5 Coach and registered with The Baseball Association of Hong Kong, China.
- Relevant coaching experience in baseball at the national team, professional club, or high-performance team level is preferred.
- A proven track record of coaching at the international / national level (baseball/Baseball5) is required.
- Strong knowledge of game strategy formulation, athlete performance evaluation.
- Mastering racquet control is fundamental, to execute a variety of rolls and place balls with precision across short and long distances. To develop players’ both defensive and offensive capabilities.
- Proficiency in using video/computer analysis tools to present tactical reports, demonstrating the integration of theory and practice.
- Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English.
Terms and Conditions for the Engagement: - The appointed Coach shall provide services as a self-employed individual and is required to comply with the "Notes to Coaches" and the "Code of Conduct". The Coach must effectively implement the training preparation and lead the Team to achieve the set performance goals.
- The Coach shall be legally liable for any property damage or personal injury to a third party resulting from his/her negligence. Furthermore, the Coach must maintain valid Professional Indemnity and General Liability Insurance throughout the entire coaching engagement.
- A valid Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) is required.
- The Coach, as a self-employed person, is responsible for filing a tax return in accordance with the Inland Revenue Ordinance and for enrolling in and contributing to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme under the MPF Schemes Ordinance.
Service Term: 9 November 2025 - March 2026 (or until the 3rd Baseball5 Asia Cup concludes)
Local Training Commitment: • 12-16 hours/week (3-4 hours/session)
• Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday
• Extra sessions may be added one month before the Asia Cup

Mandatory to attend all scheduled sessions including voluntary sessions. •

Remuneration: Local: HK$516/hour.
Maximum 6 paid hours/week due to budget constraint; extra hours are voluntary. Overseas trip & Asia Cup: HK$1,300/day
