The Baseball Association of Hong Kong, China (BAHKC) is seeking an experienced coach to lead our Hong Kong, China Baseball5 team in preparing for and participating in the 3rd Baseball5 Asia Cup and the WBSC Baseball5 World Cup 2026, to be held in early 2026 and late 2026, respectively.
Job Highlights: - To oversee the training programme for the Baseball5 squad and preparation for the upcoming major events.
- To develop programmes by providing objective data that can be used to identify and nurture talent; to pursue excellence in the international events.
- To provide systematic training programmes for Baseball5 national squad and regional squad;
- Utilize and integrate scientific, medical services;
- Assist with the administration and coordination.
Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Baseball5 Head Coach will be responsible for the following duties:
- To fully utilize and integrate scientific, medical and other athlete support services into the elite training programme to enhance elite training outcomes;
- To monitor athlete performance through comprehensive, multi-method assessment and regular evaluation;
- To provide timely and critically analyzed progress reports to the BAHKC;
- To be responsible for administrative matters related to local and overseas squad training and competitions;
- To provide guidance and supervise part-time coaches in the national squad and regional squad;
- To assist the BAHKC with coach education programmes; and
- Perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications: - University degree or its equivalent;
- Holder of a valid coaching certificate issued by the relevant governing body;
- A minimum of 5 years’ professional coaching experience and proven record of achievement in coaching baseball athletes at national level or its equivalent;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Good command of written and spoken Chinese OR English; and
- Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong are an added advantage.
Terms and Conditions for the Contract:
For overseas applicants, the BAHKC will assist the appointed coach to apply for a working visa from the Hong Kong SAR Immigration Department. It normally takes 45 days to proceed. BAHKC is responsible for the working visa fee and postage in mailing the working visa to the successful candidate.
Food and lodging in Hong Kong, international transport, local travelling expenses, agency fee and any extra charges/fees all are at the appointed coach’s own expense and own arrangements.
Number of working hours: 45 hours per week in accordance with the training schedule and requirements, including on-field training, overseas training, competitions inside or outside Hong Kong, monthly progress report, evaluation reports, regular meeting with the coaching team and may be invited to meet the management of the Association and required paper work.
