School Sports Programme Coordinator Scheme

Leisure and Cultural Services Department News: The Home Affairs Bureau and LCSD will continue launching the “School Sports Programme Coordinator Scheme” (Scheme) in September this year, with the support of the Education Bureau and the Hong Kong Sports Institute, and funding from the Arts and Sport Development Fund. The Scheme will last for three years (from 1 September 2015 to 31 August 2018), with 18 quotas opened for applications by all local government and aided secondary schools. Each successful applicant school will receive a maximum subvention of $350,000 each year for implementing sports programmes for students to promote a sporting culture in school, and deploying a retired athlete as the School Sports Programme Coordinator to implement the related sports programmes. The Scheme will also offer 18 posts of School Sports Programme Coordinators for retired athletes with secondary education level, who have received training at least 2 years under Hong Kong National Team, and have represented Hong Kong to participate in international competitions.
