IBAF Umpire and Technical Commissioner Clinics
Hong Kong Baseball Association and the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) will organize Umpire Training Camp and Technical Commissioners Seminar during this Easter Holiday between 17 April and 21 April. HKBA organizes first-ever Technical Commissioner Seminar with the IBAF instructor in Hong Kong, it mainly covers the following areas:
• What is a Technical Commissioner (TC)?
• Prior to arriving to a country destination
• Arrival at destination
• Tools a TC needs and dress codes
• TC meeting
• Prior to departure of a game
• Upon arrival at a game
• Before the game begins
• During the game
• After the game
Benefits for participants to be familiar with those items are:
• Possibility of being appointed to HKBA events (depending on the performance and experience)
• Possibility of being appointed to IBAF events (depending on the performance and experience)
• Being able to apply those learned into the leagues and tournament operation as run national events (making sure of game protocol, technical regulations, smooth operation of the games etc)
Note 1) Participation of those participants should be approved/endorsed by the respective national federations.
Note 2) Umpires should bring your own gears and training clothes.
Note 3) Participants in TC seminar should have solid experience and knowledge in baseball with strong command of English.
