The Baseball Association of Hong Kong, China (BAHKC) is looking for a Youth Development Team Coach to assist our Head Baseball Coach to develop the second-tier athletes to prepare for the national squad and participate in the BFA U18 Baseball Asian Championship and competitions held outside Hong Kong in 2024.

The employment is made on a contract basis for the period starting from March 2024 to December 2024.


Duties and responsibilities:
  • To provide technical support to the Head Baseball Coach of Men’s National Team on the Second-tier Squad in preparing and implementing squad training on and off the field
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse youth
  • Participate in activities that foster professional growth and development
  • To supervise the selected players to keep their best physical and psychological conditions throughout the training and games periods
  • To assist the Head Baseball Coach in evaluating and selecting the best performing athletes into the Team, fine-tuning the training program and formulating game strategies for the competitions
  • To prepare regular individual and team reports on the training
  • To coordinate with the Strengthen & Conditioning Coach to keep the athletes in top shape and prevent sports injury
  • To submit a written report on the effectiveness of preparation and performance by 15 December 2024.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant coaching experience at national team, professional team level or high-performance team
  • Good track record of coaching experience at the international competition level
  • Good knowledge in formulating game strategies, evaluating the performance of athletes and complying with the anti-doping regulations
  • Good communicative and organizing skills
  • Good command of written and spoken Chinese OR English
  • Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong are an added advantage

Terms and Conditions for the Employment:

The employment is made on a contract with the duration from March 2024 to December 2024.

For overseas applicants, the BAHKC will assist the appointed coach to apply for a working visa from the Hong Kong Immigration Department. It normally takes 45 days to proceed. BAHKC is responsible for the working visa fee and postage in mailing the working visa to the successful candidate.

Food and lodging in Hong Kong, international transport, local travelling expenses and any extra charges/fees all are at the appointed coach’s own expense and own arrangements.

Number of working hours: 45 hours per week in accordance with the training schedule and requirements, including on-field training, overseas training, competitions inside or outside Hong Kong, monthly progress report, evaluation reports, regular meeting with the coaching team and may be invited to meet the management of the Association and required paper work.
