To follow the suggestion from HKSAR Government on 21 March, to reduce social contact in response to the worsening situation of the COVID-19 infection in Hong Kong. A special work arrangement for HKBA office will be implemented with effect from 23 March. Our staff will keep working at home except for the scheduled days. Meanwhile, our office hours will be shortened to 10:00-17:00; lunch hours remain unchanged, 13:00-14:00.

The 2020-21 Hong Kong Baseball Open League (Open League) tentatively planned to start in late June or July. The 2020-21 Open League will be changed to four divisions: Men’s B, Men’s C, Women’s and Mixed division. The number of teams is limited to 10 teams (more than 10 teams will be decided by ballot.), each team could play at least 4 games. The Men’s C championship will be qualified for the next year's Men’s B. The lowest ranking of Men B will compete in Men’s C next year. Each match must have at least one HKBA registered coach attend (level 1 or above).

To teams who have interest to join the 2020-2021 Hong Kong Baseball Open League, please register from 27 May to 5 June. Due to the COVID-19, in order to prevent the crowd from gathering, we will use Facebook live to hold the ballot. The unselected teams will not be able to participate in the 2020-2021 Open League; all payments will be returned to the paying account. The following is the relevant details.

Team Registration: 27 May – 5 June 2020

Date of Ballot: 8 June 2020 (Monday)

Preliminary Player Registration*: 9 June – 23 June 2020
*Teams must have at least 12 players in the roster before 23 June 2020.

To reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus in the communities, being informed that all National Sports Associations are required to cancel the Major Local International Events and Local International Events that to be held from 29 January to 16 February 2020.

Phoenix Cup 2020 that scheduled on 7-10 February will be cancelled.

We are checking the possible date for a postponement. We will post up once a decision has made.

The Lick Sang Presents 8th WBSC Hong Kong International Baseball Open (“8th HKIBO”) to be held on 13-16 December 2019 at Sai Tso Wan Recreation Ground,  The 8th HKIBO is organized by the Hong Kong Baseball Association, subvented by the Home Affairs Bureau (Arts & Sport Development Fund) and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, sanctioned by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (“WBSC”).  Five teams including Russia, Singapore, Taiwan and two teams from Hong Kong play a single round robin to determine the champion.  Please visit the event website for the game schedule and related news.
