The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) has taken over sports funding administration from the then Hong Kong Sports Development Board and established the Sports Subvention Scheme (SSS) since 2004 to support sport development in Hong Kong. The subvention allocated to the national sports associations (NSAs) mainly covers personnel expenses, office expenses and programme expenses. Over the years, LCSD has been working closely with NSAs, sports organisations (SOs) and relevant stakeholders for the promotion of sport in the territory. With a view to further enhancing the development of sport in Hong Kong, LCSD will conduct a comprehensive review of the SSS (the Review) to optimize its administration. (Read full article)

The event was finished on 21 July 2018 in Guangzhou.  Hong Kong Baseball Association (HKBA) sent four teams including two U12 teams, a Union Team with players from latest FISU World Baseball Championship and U18 squad and our Hong Kong Team to play in the respective division.  Four teams finished the tournament with a very encourgaing result. In the final day of the tournament, Indonesia got their first win after defeating Singapore; Hong Kong could not stop Philippines from winning back to back titles. (Read full article)

To meet the development of baseball in Hong Kong, to further extend its promotion to local schools and enhance the professionalism of baseball activities in the community. Hong Kong Baseball Association (HKBA) will organize the third Level 1 (Elementary) Baseball Coach Certification Program 2018 with the support from World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) and the subvention from Hong Kong Coaching Committee.
