Visiting Coach for Hong Kong Women’s Baseball National Team to prepare for the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup 2018

The Hong Kong Baseball Association (HKBA) is looking for a Visiting Coach to assist our Head Coach to train Hong Kong Women’s Baseball National Team in preparation for the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup 2018 (“World Cup”) of which to be held from 22-31 August 2018 in USA.

The employment is made on a contract basis for a period starting from March 2018 to early September 2018. The contract will be ended 7 days after the completion of all the games of Hong Kong Team in the World Cup.

Duties and responsibilities:
• To provide technical support to the Head Coach of Hong Kong Team in preparing and implementing Hong Kong Team training both on and off the field
• To supervise the selected national team athletes to keep their best physical and psychological conditions throughout the training and games periods for the World Cup
• To assist the Head Coach in evaluating and selecting the best performing athletes into the Team, fine-tuning the training program and formulating game strategies for the World Cup
• To prepare regular individual and team reports on the training
• To co-ordinate with Sports Trainer to keep the athletes in top sharp and prevent sports injury

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant coaching experience at national team, professional team level or high performance team
• Good track record of coaching experience at the international competition level
• Experience with coaching women’s baseball team is preferred
• Good knowledge in formulating game strategies, evaluating performance of athletes and complying the anti-doping regulations
• Good communicative and organizing skills
• Good command of written and spoken Chinese OR English

Terms and Conditions for the Employment:
The employment is made on a contract basis with the duration from March 2018 to early September 2018. The contract is expected to be ended 7 days after the completion of the competition. The appointed coach should submit written report on the effectiveness of preparation and performance after the game.

The Hong Kong Baseball Association will assist the appointed coach to apply for working visa from the Hong Kong Immigration Department. It normally takes 45 days to proceed. HKBA is responsible for the working visa fee and postage in mailing the working visa to the successful candidate.

The monthly salary is HK$40,000 (about US$5,100), inclusive of all terms and conditions.
Food and lodging in Hong Kong, international transport, local travelling expenses and any extra charges/fees all are at the appointed Visiting Coach’s own expense and own arrangements.

Estimated number of working hours: not less 40 hours per week in accordance with the training schedule and requirements, including on-field training, monthly progress report, evaluation reports, regular meeting with the coaching team and may be invited to meet the management of the Association and required paper work.
